History
The University of Houston System has had a presence in Sugar Land since 1994. In 2012, under the administration of the University of Houston, University of Houston System at Sugar Land was renamed University of Houston at Sugar Land to reflect its connection to the faculty, research and programs of the main campus. Nearly 4,500 were enrolled.
In 2014, the digital media program began its move to Sugar Land, the School of Nursing opened in 2015 and in 2016, the UH system Board of Regents approved a master plan that included construction of a new 150,0000square-foot classroom building for technology, business, education and health programs.
The campus further expanded with the groundbreaking of the Sugar Land Academic Building in 2018, the College of Technology building in 2019 and most recently the second academic building in October 2023.
