All new faculty coming to the University of Houston will receive individualized checklists to complete the required onboarding tasks. The table below is a general overview of departments for faculty onboarding. Your individualized checklist will provide you with more information and contacts.

2 | Review the New Faculty Website | Please take a few minutes to explore the New Faculty website below. It offers helpful information on teaching, research, work-life balance, professional development, and more. 3 | Complete onboarding tasks in the HR Career site |
Log in to the HR Career site (careers.uh.edu) to complete your university onboarding tasks. This will ensure you get a UH email address, employee ID and are set up in our payroll system. Please review the HR Service Center website link below and submit the required I9 documents. |

4 | Provide transcript to the University | Please provide your official transcript with your relevant terminal degree posted. Only official hard copies or official electronic transcripts are acceptable. Official electronic transcripts must be sent directly from the degree granting institution or their authorized vendor to facultyaffairs@uh.edu. Please register for the mandatory New Faculty Orientation that occurs on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. This event will be hosted by the Office of the Provost and will include both required and optional events that will help acclimate you to the UH community. |

7 | Visit FDIS Website | Please visit the Faculty Departmental Instructional Support (FDIS) knowledge base website to become familiar with the technology and tools available at the University of Houston. You will find quick start guides and tutorials for faculty at this site, as well as support for instructional design, accessibility, and online teaching technologies.
