We offer a unique liberal arts education that combines the close-knit feel of a small community with the resources of a major research university. Our community is made up of motivated learners and exceptional faculty committed to teaching excellence. We provide opportunities for undergraduate research, community initiatives, one of the largest debate programs in the nation and learning abroad experiences.

    Second Largest Group of UH Students Inducted into PBK

    This year, more than 100 University of Houston students demonstrated that they indeed are worthy of membership and recently were accepted into the institution’s PBK Mu of Texas chapter.

  • Fulbright student Kayla Alexander

    University of Houston Ranks Among Top Fulbright Producers

    Among the students who have ventured internationally with Fulbright support is recent graduate Kayla Alexander. A member of UH’s Honors College, she earned bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish from UH. After earning her Fulbright, she traveled to Vilagarcía de Arousa, Spain and is serving as an English teaching assistant at a secondary school.

  • Kalena Holeman

    UH’s Kalena Holeman Named Gates Cambridge Scholar

    This month, English major Kalena Holeman was named as a Gates Cambridge Scholar. She is just the second student at the University to receive this scholarship, which will support her graduate studies at the University of Cambridge in England.

    The Honors College welcomes applications from students entering the University of Houston as freshmen, students enrolled at the University for one or several semesters and students transferring from other colleges and universities.

Prospective students have several opportunities to visit the Honors College — the Cougar Preview, one of our High School Senior Open Houses or an Individual Visit!
