Welcome to the University of Houston Faculty COUNCIL

Welcome to the pages of the UH Faculty Council website. Here, we hope you will find the informational resources you are looking for. Our goal when developing and managing this website is to bring under one umbrella a variety of links and resources that might impact the day-to-day work of a faculty member. Of course, we wish to also provide information on the workings of the faculty council itself and on all the proceedings and documents related to the council committees. In that sense, the council website is designed to be both “outward-looking,” that is, a resource for UH faculty and “inward-looking,” that is, a resource for faculty council members.

Welcome back. We hope you had a meaningful time away to recharge. We are grateful for your energy and expertise as we kick off another term. We know the work ahead is demanding, and we look forward to supporting your success—and your students.

Next Faculty Council Meeting: January 21, 2026

Time: 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Location Meeting: Student Center North Room 204 (SGA Senate Chamber)

Faculty Council meetings are held in person. A live stream is available for those unable to attend in person—you can find the link in the agenda posted on the Faculty Council Website at least 7 days before the meeting. Please note: only in-person attendees can participate in the discussion and ask questions.

Each week, we shine a light on a key SAM or MAPP policy that directly affects faculty.

This week is a slight departure from the SAM and MAPP. We have been asked to provide the link to the Bylaws of the Faculty Council.
